The legacy of Maximilian Bircher

Welcome to our first blog. We would like to take the opportunity to introduce one of the most important pioneers of functional medicine and modern nutrition. Born in 1867 in Switzerland, nothing was pointing to an exceptional foot print he would leave for the world to come. He got into the limelight by saving the lives of soldiers of the 1st world war. Weekend by the hardships of serving they were fighting the Spanish flu in additon. Birchers extensive knowledge, especially about nutrition and water as a remedy, enabled him to save these souls, with hardly no other than nutrition and water. One of the keys of his doctrine is the paragraph from above. The first world meets an opulence of food from literally every corner of the planet, yet, malnutrition has never been spread more widely. The lack of nutrients and energy, light energy, shows in a growing number of people suffering from adipositas. Processed foods, containing low quality ingredients, are resulting in constant appetite up to cravings. Not to mention the organic damage. His legacy to the world is a change back literally to the roots. Predominantly vegetarian or vegan, nutrition should be made up from unprocessed foods, while one third of a meal should be represented by raw vegetables and fruits. Locally grown by organic farming, and harvested at a mature stage. Short ways of delivery, and an immediate consumption after preparation. In the following blogs we would like to be of help in managing your groceries and in offering recipes for an easy prep of nutri-dense and delish meals. Stay tuned!

Healthy greetings,
